Why you are not showing up

From a customer's question to what the search page reads, what the AI engines said, the gap and the fix list.

Every number comes from our own recorded runs. The first diagram is labelled where an example is used.

Step 1 of 5

A customer asks a question

It starts with a question like the one in the diagram. We use an example here and say so. Our own checks use the questions stored for each site.

Step 2 of 5

What a search engine can read

What it checks. The page the way a crawler reads it.

What we found. On the old home page: a title of 61 characters and a description of 125 characters, but no canonical link, no structured data and no social tags.

What to do. Add the three missing items to the page head.

Step 3 of 5

What the AI engines said

What it checks. The same questions, sent to four AI answer engines, 113 checks each.

What we found. One engine answered all 113. The other three answered 13, 15 and 19 times.

What to do. Treat an engine that could not be asked as unknown.

Step 4 of 5

The gap

What it checks. Whether any answer mentioned the brand we tracked.

What we found. None of 160 answers did. 292 checks never got an answer, and we count those as unknown, not as misses.

What to do. Fix access to the engines first. Then give them a page worth citing.

Step 5 of 5

The fix list

What it checks. Every finding from the audit, ranked.

What we found. Six fixes: speed, canonical link, structured data, social tags, sitemap and security headers. This site includes all of them.

What to do. Open the fix plan, or run the quick check on your own site.
